Keane Ceramics was founded in 1977 by Roger and Margaret Keane in West Gosford, NSW. In 1973, Roger and Margaret established the Keane clay name by opening their studio where Roger created one-off sculptural pieces while Margaret was dedicated to producing domestic ware for galleries. Through the years, Roger was experimenting with blending different clay, and Margaret tested each of these blends in-house. Some of these amazing formulas are in production in recent days and have become the renowned benchmark of Keane clays around the world.

Nowadays, Keane Ceramics is the country’s largest manufacturer, distributor and online retailer of quality clay for commercial ceramic studios, artists, professional potters and hobbyists as well. These days, Keane Ceramics is produced and directed by Babette and Giles Keane (brother and sister) who inherited the family love and tradition in 1999.
